    RSD crowns soccer champions

    Congratulations to our 2024 Soccer Champions! The Valley View girls defeated V.H. Lassen 1-0 to win first place while T.G. Barr beat Maxine O. Bush by the same score to take home third place. The Irene Lopez boys won first place in their match against Ed and Verma Pastor by a score of 2-0 and in the third-place matchup, Percy L. Julian scored five and shutout the Lassen Tigers.

    With more than 20 years dedicated to the education profession, Silvia Miller is a proud alumna of the ݮƵ Elementary School District. The past seven years Miller serve in various leadership roles, including instructional coach, assistant principal, supervisor of the RSD Preschool program and as supervisor of student records.

    Child nutrition team continues great work

    The Child Nutrition Services department received an Administrative Review in February by the Arizona Department of Education Health and Nutrition Services. They audited all aspects of the child nutrition program including administrative record keeping, program management, procurement, and resource management. They observed and audited the breakfast and lunch program, after school meals, fresh fruit and vegetable program and catering.

    Achieving and pursuing higher education never stops

    Four of our principals recently graduated from the National Principal Leadership Academy. This program is offered by the Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents. It provides aspiring principals, assistant principals, as well as first and second-year principals the opportunity to participate in a year-long academy where the curriculum and assignments are equity-centric for leading staff to serve our historically marginalized and students of color. Congratulations to Ms. Christina Bhattacharia, Mr. Brandon Valdez, Ms. Holena Lebron, and Ms. Elizabeth Romo.

    C.J. Jorgensen Academy of Service Learning students in Ms. Rubios class visited the Grand Canyon and had the chance to hike along the South Rim while learning about the history of one of the worlds natural wonders.
